Children’s Museum gives kids business sense

The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum kicked off its new Young Entrepreneur Program Tuesday.  It’s called Kid Business.

The program is designed to teach young people ages eight through eighteen how to develop, market, package and sell their own original products.

It’s open to all U.P. children who want to exercise their creativity, providing them with a great opportunity to get a taste of the real world.

At his training session this week, Education Coordinator Jim Edwards taught kids how to make their innovative dreams a reality.

“We’re keen on helping them go from just being a designer to an entrepreneur, where they package their materials and make it something that will sell on the shelves,” said Edwards.

The children will get the opportunity to sell their products in the newly remodeled museum store, which is slated to open when renovations are completed at the end of January.
